MEGHAN O'FERRAL
Both the sound effects and the songs contributed to the making of this movie. An example of the way that sound effects better enhanced the movie is in scenes such as the jailbreak, take down of the ship, and holding on to the stone. In the jailbreak scene, there were a lot of sound effects representing the guns, things exploding, and the gravity being turned off. In the take down of the ship there were many sound effects for explosions and ships being hit. When they were all holding on to the stone there were sound effects to go with the purple cyclone that was surrounding them. Without these sound effect the movie would be boring. No intensity would have been brought to these extremely intense scenes.
The music contributed to the emotion of the movie for example at the end of the movie after he read the note from his deceased mother, the tape with the song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" further enhanced the emotion value you as that song spoke to him about how his mother felt about her son. There is a scene where the music is playing when Ronan tells the people of his new power. In this scene Quill begins to dance and distract Ronan. The music and the dancing help lighten the mood to a very dark toned scene. The music in the movie enhanced the emotion and the mood of the movie.
